Fortescue Pilbara Mine
The development of a major mining project in remote Western Australia required high-quality temporary accommodation and supporting infrastructure for the on-site workforce. Located several hours from the nearest town, the project demanded a fully integrated solution that could be delivered quickly while providing comfortable living facilities and essential site services.
Algeco delivered a turnkey modular accommodation solution, combining en-suite living quarters with catering, recreation and critical utility infrastructure to support remote operations.
The project formed part of a US$1.375 billion mining development, including the construction of 143 km of rail infrastructure. Located approximately three hours from Newman and six hours from Karratha, the remote location required self-sufficient accommodation and supporting infrastructure capable of meeting the needs of the workforce.
Algeco supplied 304 single-occupancy en-suite rooms, providing high-quality accommodation alongside a range of supporting services and facilities.
The completed development included open recreation spaces, a sewage treatment plant, four water treatment plants and three generators, creating a fully operational living environment capable of supporting remote site operations.
The entire turnkey solution was delivered in just five weeks, enabling workforce accommodation to be established quickly in a remote location.
