At Pinderfields Hospital in the UK, Algeco worked with Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust to deliver a new two-storey Clinical Support Unit, providing an advanced ophthalmology clinic and modern office accommodation using permanent modular construction.
Keeping healthcare services moving
The facility was constructed using Algeco’s latest Ibex steel-frame modular building system, allowing large sections of the building to be manufactured off site before installation.
This approach reduced activity within the live hospital environment and enabled the new ophthalmology unit to become operational at the earliest opportunity, helping improve access to specialist clinical services while minimising disruption for patients, visitors and hospital staff.

The permanent facility incorporates a range of sustainable design features, including enhanced insulation, low-energy lighting, energy-efficient heating systems and water-saving technologies.
Externally, the building combines facing brick, render and Trespa panels to create a durable, contemporary appearance that complements the wider hospital estate while delivering the performance expected of a permanent healthcare building.
